Still In Progress—But Progress Was Made!
I’ve spent a lot of time over the past year searching for a new WordPress theme for this blog. I mean, really – I’ve spent a lot of time! A lot of time trying to find a theme that had the look I wanted and had the functionality I wanted. I couldn’t find one! Either themes were too slick and corporate or were pretty, but had too much personality and didn’t have the functions that I wanted. I finally decided I needed a theme that would allow me flexibility to make the changes I wanted. I wasn’t posting because my blog just didn’t feel like “home” and I knew that a new theme would mean new image sizes, etc.
I’m still in the process of tweaking and designing, so bear with me for a little while, but I am feeling excited about my blog again and have some great featured art and tutorials in the queue. Please let me know if you find any wonkiness in the site that I missed in the framework change. (I had to go through and change every single post.)I was also researching the best responsive gallery plug-in and I believe I’ve now found it. I’m looking forward to building some great showcase galleries! You’ll also see that the image sizes are now larger.

I find it so difficult to choose among all those themes! I’m on Blogger at the moment and thought about changing to WordPress, as well, and then was totally overwhelmed by all the templates… 😉
Just a little something as you were asking: when I read your blog post via Feedly on my iPad I saw your photo as a thumbnail in preview and then (as I clicked to read the whole post) a larger distorted version above the text. I don’t know whether the distortion was due to Feedly or the iPad, it’s fine and normal though when I look at it with my MacBook. I hope this helps!
Have a wonderful evening!
Hi Rosie, thanks for the head’s up on that. I looked at the site on my iPhone and iPad and they look good there. – I’ve been meaning to try out Feedly on my iPad, so I’ll check it out.
Good luck on deciding on a theme. It is hard! Be sure to get a theme from a reputable theme developer that looks like it’s around for awhile. Genesis, WooThemes, Pagelines, Organic, etc.
Hi Leslie, I have been browsing through your texture collections and wish to purchase a collection. I thought I had my mind made up but then I saw this photo with one of your textures:

I saw how she used your texture and, not only do I love the colours, but love the paint strokes so clearly visible. Would you mind letting me know what texture this is and in which collection it appears? I’ve tried to locate it and don’t seem to have any success. Thank you kindly.
Hello Diane, that texture is “Grotto” from the Tableaux collection. http://bit.ly/1d5w9OV Thanks!
